However, in the year since then I have to say in what started to be a site dedicated to writing about simple topics such as product reviews is slowly turning out to be a community of people asking me where are these products located at, especially some of the wedding dresses, wedding gowns and wedding rings presented in the site. To be honest with you all, we do know but even if we pointed you out to the original source of these items, chances are it has been discontinued or it’s not on sale anymore…

Anyway, we will try to get back to everyone who sent us an email whenever we can however for the meantime I just want to thank everybody for continue to visit, read, and support the site in it’s shape or form. In a world full of Goliath’s in the wedding planning space, we are the David’s simply trying to make it through to another day. Thank again!

When Amber came to me with a pre-designed logo for her aisle runner last year, I was excited to see what we could do for her.  She brought a few images of her church to the table so we could make sure the coloring was right for the overall feel of the wedding.  I love how her aisle runner turned out but am even more thrilled by the wedding as a whole.  What a stunning wedding with a beautifully written description in Amber’s own words.

“Our wedding took place on September 19, 2009 in downtown Boston at Old South Church and the reception took place at Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. We fell in love with the “Old Boston Glamour” feel of Fairmont Copley as soon as we walked in, and knew it was the perfect venue to celebrate with our 150 guests from all over the nation. Old South Church was a logical choice as it’s right across Copley Square from the hotel, and we love the gothic architecture and history associated with the church (Sam Adams & Mother Goose were both members!). These two venues set a beautiful stage for our wedding day.

I would describe the overall look & feel we were going for with decor as “Glamorous Romance”. Our very classic color palette of ivory, blush pink, and gold was accented with lots of candles, roses, feathers, and crystals to really glam things up. The end result was a classic & elegant look with just a few modern touches to make things current. We rented gold rimmed hammered glass chargers, gold Chivari chairs, and gold rimmed water glasses for each place setting. There was a baby pink rose tucked into each napkin with the menu as well as a spray rose sitting on top of each champagne glass. By the end of the evening, all of our guests were wearing feathers and roses in their hair & pockets which was so much fun to see.

I’ve always been a very crafty person and early on during the wedding planning process I was inspired to take on a few DIY projects after seeing the Knot.com bio’s of a few different brides. By the time our planning was over, I had taken on way more as DIY projects than I ever anticipated but it made things feel so special as I put a lot of love & care into the little details of our wedding day. I screen printed our wedding invitations, programs, menus, candy buffet bags, and cocktail napkins using a Gocco printer and lots of gold ink. I used wood letters and pearl beads to create “We Do” letters to accent our Wedding Certificate table. I used a metal stand, wood lettering, and glass “bubbles” from CB2 to create the sign for our Champagne Bar. I spray-painted various frames gold to create our Italian table numbers. I created kid’s “Play Buckets” for our flower girls that were waiting for them at their place settings. I made the memory candles to honor our loved ones who have passed.”

With busy day to day lives it can sometimes be hard to find the time to sit for a few hours and begin to make wedding plans. For those who find that they lack the time to make the plans themselves, it may be beneficial to hire or acquire the help of a wedding planner. A wedding planner can be a hired professional, or simply a friend or family member. Wedding planners can handle everything from arranging who will be making a wedding speech to what kind of dishes will be served for your reception. It’s important to remember, especially in the case of having a friend or family member take care of the arrangements, to have the planner communicate with the bride and groom. After all it is their big day.

Many couples will begin making plans by choosing a theme to base their wedding around. This can help with things such as color selection and symbolism for wedding invitations or decorations in general. Traditionally, these themes may be based around love, the location the wedding is taking place (such as the mountains), or the season in which the wedding will occur. Choosing a theme can cut down on stress and free the bride and groom, or whom ever the wedding planner may be, to concentrate on more important things.

Whether going with a central theme, or keeping the wedding simple, finding something to wear to that special day can sometimes seem over bearing. There are many factors to consider such as the wedding time, place, and of course the wedding budget. Will those in the wedding want to hold on to their garments after the big day, or would it simply make more sense to rent? What colors should the wedding dresses be and where should they be purchased from? Even with all of these questions there is a good rule that can help eliminate some unneeded stress, simply, plan ahead. If the wedding is taking place in the summer or spring, it’s a good bet that most of the clothing rental places will be booked for at least a year’s time. So, it is important to get your orders in as early as possible. The same can be true for those who decide to buy their attire as well, so if at all possible, get fitted for those tuxedos and wedding dresses right away.

Weddings can be a stressful time. By planning ahead and possibly getting help with arrangements, a lot of the headaches that can occur on a wedding day will be easily eliminated. So, when the time comes, instead of having to worry about whether the best man’s tuxedo matches the groom’s, attention can be focused on the bride and groom. Then, when they exchange wedding vows, the spot light can shine on them and their love.

What inspired you to start your company?

I was married in 2005 and did not have a professional photographer. At the time I was a hobbyist photographer, and I loved the art of creating a beautiful image. I soon realized the importance that professional photographers truly have in capturing important events and moments. In 2006, my sister bought a digital SLR camera, and my passion for photography exploded. In 2007, I unofficially photographed a friends wedding, and I loved it! Since then I decided I wanted to own a photography business.

What wedding trends are you currently loving?

I love the trends of brides really incorporating themselves into the wedding. It seemed for so long that people just chose color schemes and wedding pieces because they should. But I love how brides are really looking to create those personal touches.

What wedding planning advice would you give to engaged couples?

Find a professional photographer you love for your wedding. It may seem like a unnecessary expense, but the value of having high quality images will far outweigh the cost you will pay. If having them all day at your wedding is too much for your budget, see if they offer partial day coverage at a price you can afford.

What do you love most about your job?

I love creating and capturing emotions. I love when a bride looks at her images and can truly say she looks and feels beautiful.

Speaking of authentic, I still think that when it comes to deciding your wedding style, you really have to first know thyself. There is so much wedding inspiration out there that it can be quite overwhelming. However, if you know who you are and what your own Style Statement is, making all those decisions won’t be that difficult. The bonus? The wedding will be a true extension of your and your groom’s personal styles – and that is what will make it special and memorable.
